Many photographs from early war zones turned out to be staged but Roger Fenton two photographs of the cannonballs are similar but there is no full evidence showing if he staged the second photograph since he doesn’t show himself or anyone moving things around in order to describe the scene as altered. No one really knows the sequence of the photographs and its landscape.
